This fall make the morning rush easier with this seven-day breakfast meal plan! They’re easy to make, kid-friendly options that adults will love too, and you can feel good about sending everyone off to school and work well-fed.
While I don’t yet have kids (We are currently trying to adopt! For more on that visit https://www.findingbabyivey.com/), I do make breakfast for Nathan and I every morning. For me, having a plan in advance is the key to success when it comes to meal planning. After deciding what we’ll have for breakfast, lunch and dinner all week, I make a master shopping list with everything we’ll need.
I know a lot of people already plan for dinners, but don’t forget to make a breakfast meal plan! Breakfast is a key opportunity to increase your intake of the food groups that most Americans don’t get enough of – fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and dairy. When I plan meals, I try to balance my plate by including at least three different food groups, but it doesn’t have to be complicated! This plan includes two meals that can be prepped in advance (Bacon, Spinach and Sweet Onion Quiche and Ham and Cheese Egg Muffins for Back to School), and the other five meals can be whipped up in 5 to 10 minutes or less. Feel free to switch out one fruit for another or make substitutions. If you’re lactose intolerant, try lactose-free or calcium-fortified soy milk or switch out a cup of milk for yogurt, which is lower in lactose.
How do you prep for back to school? As a hopeful mom-to-be I am curious how you moms out there make this busy season less stressful and more enjoyable. Let me know in the comments!
